Web/Mind Mapping

InstaGrok (www.instagrok.com) is not only a mind-mapping tool, but allows students to record their ideas in a journal, creates quizzes around their concept, and helps to expand the scope of their ideas.

Mind Meister (Online Mind Mapping and Brainstorming) www.mindmeister.com Free version and $59/yr plus versions

www.bubbl.us is an online concept-mapping tool that allows for students to work collaboratively on the same mind map. I quite like this tool as it can help students see what other learners view as important in a topic, and it promotes the notion of helping others when they are missing a key concept. Also, this type of collaboration can make project work much easier to complete, as students no longer have to meet in person to work on an assignment.

I really like mind mapping and especially collaborative mind mapping.
I have had some good success with Mind42 (Mind for two)
mind42.com

But also really like Lucid Chart It is a paid service but with free educator packages.

And though it requires a little more setup (You have to download the software and host on your server) I have been very impressed with CMAP tools

Text 2 Mind map

This site allows students to type ideas (both in point form or sentences) and converts their thoughts into a web. Once the web is complete, you can save it as a pdf file that can be easy shared. Its user friendly nature would benefit any students that may struggle with organizing their thought.
